Bodo’s Schloss is a fantastic place to go with a group of friends to really let your hair down and have a rollicking good time- Alpine styley!
First sit down to a hearty meal in one of the cosy alcoves. The walls are wood panelled with random pieces of ski paraphernalia hanging up and the tables are covered in cheerful red gingham tablecloths so you immediately feel as though you’ve been plunged straight into a cosy but chic chalet in the Austrian Alps. Next take a glance over the menu where you will find such traditional nordic delights as pretzel bread, hearty Nurenberger sausages with saurkraut for the main course, and Apple strudel or Cherry linzer torte for dessert- it’s perfect comfort food and just what you need after a day on the slopes (or the busy streets of London as the case may be!)
You’ll be glad you lined your stomach because it’s not long before the ‘apres ski’ drinking commences. If your’re in the mood for something special, order the ‘Bodo’s bobsleigh’ which is a sharing cocktail made up of ciroq vodka, elderflower, a dash of sweet wine and a bottle of pommery delivered to your table in a mini bob sleigh. Or alternatively try the ‘shot-ski’, 10 shots of raspberry and champagne with lemon juice, served up on an old wooden ski with a giant sparkler.
The bar staff are friendly and all dressed in traditional attire of dirndl dresses and lederhosen completing the Austrian scene. By now you should be raring to boogie so it’s off to ‘Die Diskothek’ where you can shake your stuff to popular disco tracks from the past and present.
Bodo’s is now a firm favourite on the Kensington scene and has played host to royalty and film stars alike, so be prepared to splash the cash here as it can get expensive particularly if you’re planning to hit the bar hard. For special occasions or a treat for you and your friends, Bodo’s is the perfect choice so dig out your party clothes or an Austrian outfit if you’re feeling daring and get the post ski party feeling at one of the most unique clubs in the city!
