‘You don’t stop playing because you get old, you get old because you stop playing’ so goes the famous George Bernard Shaw quote and this restaurant has certainly been created by someone who is still a child at heart.
As you walk in all seems normal until you look up and notice that there are tables attached to the ceiling above which diners use a ladder to access. You will feel like you’re revisiting your childhood years as you climb up to your seat and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the bustling floor below. Although this is a fantastic feature there are tables downstairs too for the more vertiginous of you and a fantastic Italian menu.
If you like fish then try the superb Zupa de Mare, a wonderfully fresh and authentically Italian fish soup with ciabatta or the classic spaghetti with meatballs for the die-hard pasta lovers. The menu has a great selection and is very reasonable priced for the area, just make sure you book in advance if you want to ensure you reserve one of the popular tree-house tables! You will find Bona Sera on King’s Road in Chelsea.
