Proud Camden

Before Shoreditch turned up in skinny jeans and retro tees and Brixton decided to up its game and join the cool set there was Camden, the place that was trendy and diverse when the rents were rocking their skinnies the first time round. Decades later it’s still the place to go for eccentricity, originality and all things cultural. Proud Camden is one of the best places to go to experience Camden’s unique nightlife. The reason QL are particularly interested in this bar (and here comes the quirky part) is because it is actually a converted stables and great care has been made to preserve the original building so that you really do feel like you are partying in a barn. The establishment is vast with plenty of different areas to hang out. Immediately to the left there is a chill out area with leather sofas, a bar and pictures of rock gods from past and present adorning the walls. Head right and you will find the club which has a stage for gigs. However the most interesting part is the stables themselves, a seemingly never ending corridor of individual boxes you can hire out for groups- each one has its own flat screen TV with SKY Sports and movie channels. The crowd here is hip and friendly without being pretentious. Proud Camden is the perfect venue for birthday celebrations or for those wanting to try somewhere different for a night out. Check out their website for latest gigs and events- proudcamden.com
