The Roof Gardens, Kensington

Beautiful oak and fruit trees, a free flowing stream abundant with fish where flamingoes can often be seen gliding past. No we haven’t fallen asleep and dreamed up a paradise far far away, in fact you will find this idyllic scene right in the heart of London. We are of course talking about the stunning Kensington Roof Gardens.

Situated 100 feet above Kensington High Street this restaurant, garden and club is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the streets below. First head to the 7th floor to enjoy some fine dining at Babylon restaurant where you can take in the stunning views over the city’s skyline, then later head down to the club on the floor below where the gardens are also situated.

The gardens are made up of three main areas, the Spanish garden, the Tudor garden and the Woodland garden- each being filled with a wide variety of flowers, shrubs and picturesque niches. There is a sheltered Moroccan area at one end where you can relax with a shisha, and a long terrace with cushioned seating where you can sit and take in the scenic view. If you feel like dancing there is a glamorous indoor club open on Fridays and Saturday nights from 10pm until 3am often with live music playing.

Whether you want to truly impressive the pants off your date (we’re talking metaphorically, naturally) or party on down at a breathtaking location, this is a unique experience in the city that is not to be missed.
