Despite the popular TV show Man V Food and our inextinguishable desire for junk food, takeaways and sweet indulgences, it is undeniable that the health food craze is well and truly going strong.
Whole Foods Market in London, is a prime example of this passion for healthy eating as their rapid expansion dictates, with 9 branches in the city already.
They pride themselves by selling only natural and organic foods- that is, absolutely nothing artificial so no colours, preservatives, flavourings or sweeteners. That may mean the price of these foods is slightly dearer than your average Morrisons etc but some may argue one cannot put a price on health!
However, if you’re not one of those and you enjoy saving your scruples then you’ll be pleased to know that Whole Foods Market run a free tasting session every Tuesday from 5pm to 7pm. Here there are many different food departments serving up taster dishes of real, wholesome and delicious food.
There’s an internal competition at these taster sessions between the different departments which is why you’re required to grab a cork at the beginning and once you’ve tried all you can you’re asked to place your cork in whichever department jar you found best. The winning team are rewarded with highly coveted prizes so they are all desperate for your vote and will do what they can to get it! I.e. second helpings :p
Branches in London are- Kensington, Camden, Richmond, Fulham, Stoke Newington, Piccadilly Circus, Clapham and Central London. Do check out their website here for further details!
